The A.W.A.N.A. program has been a ministry for young people at First Baptist Church since 1975. The name A.W.A.N.A. is derived from the first letters of the words "Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed", a phrase taken from II Timothy 2:15. A.W.A.N.A. is geared to attract all boys and girls ages 3 through 6th grade to a Christ-centered weekly program. This includes a fun time of games, Bible time with songs and a story with challenging Bible memory work. A.W.A.N.A. meets each Wednesday night from 7:00-8:15 p.m. The A.W.A.N.A. program is divided into three separate clubs: Cubbies, Sparks, and Clubs. Click on the links to the left for details on these groups. The goal of the A.W.A.N.A. program here at First Baptist Church is two-fold: 1) to bring young people to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, and 2) to train them to serve and worship Him. |
